Podiatry Care for Every Step of Life

Your feet carry you through life — yet foot pain is often overlooked or self-managed for too long. Our Mornington podiatrists provide thorough assessment and evidence-based treatment for the full spectrum of lower limb conditions, from acute injuries to chronic diabetic foot management.

Located within a multidisciplinary clinic, our podiatrists work closely with GPs and other allied health providers to ensure conditions like diabetic neuropathy, vascular insufficiency and biomechanical disorders are managed holistically.

Podiatry at Peninsula MDC Mornington is available for patients of all ages — from children presenting with flat feet or growing pains, to adults managing heel pain, sports injuries, ingrown toenails or the complex foot care needs associated with diabetes. Our podiatrist works closely with GPs and the medical team to ensure patients with chronic conditions receive integrated, preventive foot care that evidence shows significantly reduces the risk of diabetic foot complications, including ulceration and amputation. HICAPS private health rebates are processed on-site instantly, and Medicare-rebated visits are available through a GP Team Care Arrangement.

Common Questions

A referral is not required for private podiatry appointments. However, patients with a chronic condition (e.g. diabetes) may be eligible for Medicare-rebated visits via a GP Team Care Arrangement.

People with diabetes are recommended to have a comprehensive foot assessment at least annually, with more frequent reviews (every 3–6 months) for high-risk feet with neuropathy or vascular disease.

After your biomechanical assessment, custom orthotics typically take 2–3 weeks to fabricate. A fitting appointment is included to ensure optimal comfort and function.

Yes. Paediatric flat feet (pes planus) is a common presentation. Our podiatrists assess whether treatment is indicated and may prescribe orthotics or exercises if clinically necessary.

Most Extras policies include podiatry. We process HICAPS rebates on-site at your appointment for immediate reimbursement.
