Driving medicals are a legal requirement for commercial drivers, rideshare operators, taxi licence holders and drivers with certain medical conditions such as diabetes. Our Mornington GPs are familiar with Austroads medical standards and VicRoads requirements, ensuring your assessment is completed correctly the first time.
We assess vision, hearing, cardiovascular fitness, neurological function and condition-specific criteria as required. Completed VicRoads forms and medical certificates are issued at the same appointment where possible, minimising delays to your licence renewal or accreditation.
Commercial driving medicals in Victoria must comply with the Austroads publication 'Assessing Fitness to Drive' — and our Mornington GPs are thoroughly familiar with these guidelines, including the specific requirements for insulin-treated diabetic drivers, heavy vehicle operators, bus drivers and commercial passenger vehicle operators. All required VicRoads forms are completed at the appointment, and most drivers leave our clinic with their documentation in hand. We keep appointment slots available for urgent licence renewal situations — please call (03) 5975 0000.
